This one was taken by the ladies that parked right next to us and is the only image we got with us in it, so I'm having to use it despite the blurriness and all.
The Black Eyed Peas opened the show and did a great job. It was a nice hip hop/dance balance to U2's rock. They had a few audio problems but it just proved they weren't lip syncing which was nice. Fergie looked super tiny, even in her big heels she was still smaller than the guys but she got her groove on and really got the crowd amped up. Due to the limited number of pictures we could take though, we skipped pictures of them in favor of pictures of U2. This was not unlike when you're almost running out of gas so you turn off the a/c in favor of actually reaching the gas station on the few fumes that remain.
Here you can get an idea of our seats and the overall stage setup before the lights went out. I was telling Keck I couldn't swing a cat without hitting someone else who had been at this huge show, so don't let the empty seats fool you. All those people were just stuck in the 2-3 hour traffic into the parking lots that I mentioned earlier.
Once U2 came out and the lights were down and the audio got squared away, there was no doubt you were at a rock show. Bono is a such a rock star and I mean that in the most flattering way. These guys never disappoint and that night was no exception. It was soooo worth the 6 month wait (and even the hour wait to get out of the parking lot afterwards).
